SCOTTISH BUTTER SHORTBREAD

Ingredients: 110 g sugar, 225 grams of wheat flour, 110 grams of corn flour and a pinch of salt.

  • In a bowl mix the melted butter and the  sugar  until well blended.
  • Sieve the flours over the sugar and butter mixture, add the salt, salt and mix until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
  • On a flat surface, sprinkle a little flour and extend the dough with a roller to obtain a mass of 1 cm thick. Make the cookies with molds (or the rim of a glass or cup) and placed them in the oven preheated to 170 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

SIDE DISHES: These cookies are perfect to serve with tea or coffee. They can also be served with a hot chocolate.

TIPS: You can replace sugar with icing sugar to get a  thinner dough.

It is important not to let the dough rest because it tends to dry out and torn apart. If this happens, you can add a little water.

PREPARATION TIME: 45 minutes.
